SAN DIEGO (September 26, 2007) – Southwest Strategies has expanded its public affairs team with the addition of Kimberly Olive, a former Capitol Hill staffer, as Account Executive.
Olive recently moved to San Diego after working in Washington, D.C., for the past three years. During her time on the Hill, Olive worked in several capacities. She began her career as Legislative Correspondent to Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) before securing her first communications position as Press Secretary to Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL).
Following her work with Congressman Bachus, Olive joined the office of Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) as Communications Director. She served as the Congressman’s spokesperson and directed his communications strategy as it related to his role on the House Armed Services Committee.

In her new role, Olive will assist with the government, community and media relations activities of the firm’s clients, including Wal-Mart, the Centre City Development Corporation and the City of Del Mar.
Olive is a native of Florence, Alabama. She attended The University of Alabama where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Olive has volunteered for numerous Republican Congressional campaigns and is a member of the Junior League.
