San Diego-based Southwest Strategies
(SWS) was hired in July by Second Chance, a San Diego-based
nonprofit organization, to publicize results of a groundbreaking
study showing Second Chance's success in reducing the number
of parolees who recommit crimes and return to prison.
In three short weeks, SWS secured print coverage in the San
Diego Union-Tribune and North County Times, drive-time coverage
on KPBS radio and a nightly news segment on KUSI Channel 9.
Additionally, the California Report statewide radio show and
KGTV Channel 10 are currently working on long-term stories on
Second Chance.
Second Chance, founded in 1993 by Scott Silverman, helps the
homeless, indigent and ex-offenders learn life skills and job-readiness
skills needed to find and keep jobs.
Southwest Strategies LLC was formed in 2000 by partners, Alan
Ziegaus, Bernie Rhinerson and Chris Wahl, who brought more
than 50 years of combined experience in public relations,
public affairs and marketing to the firm. SWS offers full-service
communications services and graphic design for leading San
Diego businesses. |
